Make Your Event Stand Out From the Rest

Each event is unique. But you will always want your event to stand out from the rest. This blog is all about ‘how to’ do it right for aspiring event planners. Whether you are planning a graduation party, a family reunion, a field trip, a house party,a picnic or a wedding these are a few footers you need to keep in mind.

What is an Event?

The word event means an occasion or a gathering of people at a certain place, at a certain time for a specific reason.

Determine the venue, time and audience

As the venue requires ample time for booking the first step should be to book one.

Fix a Budget

Knowing your budget will allow you to know which items are a necessity and which items are luxury for your event. Also setting a budget will narrow your choices for catering & entertainment.

Theme

Having a theme can add dimension to any event. The invitation cards, décor, music, lights, food etc will be based on the particular theme. Also ask your guests to dress up according to the event which will make it more fun.

You are Invited!

After you have selected who you want to invite, invitations should be sent out with plenty of time for R.S.V.P

Publicity

Events should be publicized so there is a hype built up about your event. Social media, Newspapers, promotional flyers should be made as attractive as possible.

Set up the event

Determine the number of staff you would require depending on the number of guests, size of the venue and budget. Prepare for any unexpected incidents.

Execute the event

During the event make sure that all your guests are comfortable. Monitor room temperature, food, beverage and entertainment. Be accessible to guests.

Conclude

Deal with success or failure positively. If the vent was a failure, take each mistake as learning and use it as a lesson learned. On the other and if your event was a success, thank everyone involved including the sponsors, guests, staff members.

QUOTES TO REMEMBER

  • Get it in Writing: Have formal written contracts for (catering, photographers, venue, permits etc)

  • Communication is the key: Keep clear communication with staff and guests

  • Never assume anything: Beware of assuming that something will happen or that someone has been informed of something. Always MAKE SURE)
