BARTENDING 00 to 17

The face of tending bar is changing. Twenty or even 10 years ago, men and women got into bartending as a way to get somewhere else. It was a temporary job, until you get a ‘real’ job or get through college.

But that seems to be changing. Today, more & more people enter the industry seeking a career in bartending. Times have changed & so is the exact discretion of bartending.

Earlier a bartender or a barmen would pour what was asked or mix a spirit with a fruit juice or a soda, but now the times have changed & every bartender or the so called “Mixologist” now days, is pushing the barrier of bartending.

Mixologist today comes from all ways of service & culinary backgrounds. Mixologist today have just not got to be creative with flair & throwing bottles up in the air, but also flaming, infusing & smoking their cocktails.

They display ways to work with beverages smartly & stylishly. They make cocktails in which they included classic & innovative cocktails. Cocktails using jams, chutneys & chocolates in their drinks.

Cocktails that come today with flair are no longer drinks just for the young or the crazy partying crowd. Nowadays cocktails are paired with food. So for me that’s something to be proud of, considering that I am still a bartender & a mixologist at heart. Who is paving the way for the younger gen

eration to come.
