Shoulders straight & head held high: Knowledge, Confidence and Positive Attitude are communicated non verbally through an erect, poised posture. Whether sitting or standing , make sure your shoulders are straight and your head is held high. Keeping the head high doesn’t mean that you should look towards the ceiling, but suggests that the head should be straight with the eyes looking right at the front. Never stoop your shoulders nor look towards the floor while communicating with others.

  • Practice the art of Power Priming : Always carry with you a personal success log of your recent accomplishments . This log keeps you motivated and projects you as a knowledgeable, upbeat and confident individual.

  • Maintain Eye Contact: When you look into someone’s eyes and talk, it showcases your knowledge as well as your surety about this knowledge that you possess. In the realm of corporate communication, maintaining eye contact serves as an important sign of confidence, respect & dignity.

  • Let your hands talk a little : It is a scientifically proven fact that speech coupled with movements of the hand stimulates the brain to think faster and results in more impactful as well as effective communication.

  • Modulate your vocal pitch : At the workplace, the tone of your voice can be a decisive factor for determining the perception of your colleagues about you. Usually, speakers with higher-pitched voices are judged to be less empathic, less powerful and more nervous than speakers with lower pitched voices. Make sure to keep your pitch at the lower end and talk congenially with one and all. Remember, an aggressive tone doesn’t guarantee success.
